Had the doubler out on a few trips so far. Everything works perfect.......when you can get it in gear. At first I thought my linkage was at fault, then my shifter bracket, but after addressing those issues I'm still left with a little more to be desired.
After talking with a few people I think we've narrowed it down to the spring in the t case. If you hold your mouth right and shift it with the rig slightly moving it goes in no problem. However, if the rig is stationary it won't go in, and while wheeling it doesn't like to go in when the rig isn't level.
The shifter feels like it engages which is why I think its something internal in the case. Either the shift fork isn't engaged all the way or the spring is worn out and won't hold the shifter in place once it engages.
I've thought about dropping the $ to run a cable shifter but I feel like what I have will work if I could just put my finger on it.
FYI this is a stock shifter set up on the 231 in a yj.
Anyone got any ideas for what the problem may be?
