I'm liking the idea of a taller tire without going much wider than my stock tires. Stock tires are 225/75/16. These would be going on a 04 Grand Cherokee with ~3" of lift. I know with all the brands in this size the ride will be a bit stiffer with the Load E rating, but that is fine. I'm looking for a NC4x4 review on this tire size. What brand have you run? How have you liked/disliked it? How many miles did you get out them? Recommendations? I've read reviews of different brands on tirerack.com, but I'd like a more credible set of reviews (I feel this board is more credible than others). If NC4x4 had a NOOB tires section, this would be in it! Thanks!

Personally, I'd go for at least a 245/75.. the selection is better, and you can get some LR D's in that size, which will ride nicer.

x2 on the 245/75's.

Its a much more common tire size, so if you ever need to pick up a spare, its a lot more likely to be available.

I run BFG MT's in 255/85-16 on my truck. Tall, skinny, and cheaper!

255/85/R16's will not fit on your WJ with 3.5" of lift unless you break out the sawzall and remove a couple of inches from your wheel wells.

You need to stick to 31's or small 32's at that lift height.
