The distributor in my 74 Cj5 (258 I6) needs to be turned all the way twards the block for it to run (CCW). The vacume advance is pushed against the block to get the timing where it'll run.
Can i pull the distributor out and set it back a tooth. I'm thinking I can get the timing to the same setting without having the vacume advance (and rubber hose) wedged up against the very warm block. Never had a distributor out before so figured I'd ask here.

Thanks.

Thanks Yager. Gettin' the old girl ready for summer. New points going in this weekend. Hopefully she purrs like a 36 year old Tiger...
