okay guys, picked up some 285/75/16 bfg mt's for my gf's truck.....they convert over to like 32.8 by 11.2 or somethin like that.....shes runnin 16x10 purty wheels, otherwise i would change them myself but i dont wanna scratch em up.....went to tire kingdom and some jacka*& said that they wouldnt fit....which me and bret(marvilusone) say is total bs.......need a tire place that will swap these over and balance CHEAP! around the salisbury area....also this is gonna work correct...to our knowledge it will

I used to go to a little place in Granite Quarry on 52 south. It was a little place that sold used cars & did car repairs. Super nice guy and cheap!

They are stupid... Although x9 is the largest recommended width for that tire, you will just have to play with tire pressure so you don't get uneven wear, it will still work just fine, although it will look stretched. Why would you go to tire kingdom to have tires swap? I have only gone there once to have some tires swapped on some wheels with pressure sensors..that way if they break them its on THEIR dime. They are HIGH on mount and balance...Wal-Mart will do just as good of a job for half as much. I always take my stuff to Bill Martin Tire in Statesville. I have also had it done at a little shop on 150 by Miller Rd. Can't remember the name of the place though.

didnt know they were high....jerrys shell on jake alexander charges 28 a tire mounted/balanced....f'in rediculous......how much does walmart charge? and do they do used tires? the firestone place down on innes st does em for tips if you get the right person and if theyre boss isnt around, legally they cant mount used tires for liability issues.......i wish they werent purty wheels or id do em like i said....i would rather her truck have diff wheels if it was up to me bc they look like mexi wheels lol

CHEAPEST PLACES FOR TIRES MOUNTED BALANCED....along with prices if you know em

For a trial fit you could put one of the tires on the spare wheel to test fit. Spares are normally standard wheels so it might be willing to swap it over your self just to get the test fit out of the way. You should change the spare over anyway when you change the others.

Goodnight's
That would be it.

Wal-Mart mounted and balanced a set of 4 used 37/12.5/17 BFG M/T for right about $50 a few months ago. Where I normally go is an even $10 per wheel/tire always, but thats because I know the owner, but I feel bad taking used tires there to have mounted and balanced instead of buying from them.

Wouldn't work at all for test fitting. I doubt the stock spare is x10 like the wheels she has on the truck, and I'm sure the backspacing is not even close, all of which would affect how the tire fits.

I'm sure the reason they refused to mount the tire is because the wheel is wider than the recommended width for that size tire and they do not want to be liable, but it shouldn't pose any problems.

It was ungodly cheap there.

Thing about Wal-Mart is this...
They are not supposed to mount any wheels bigger than the recommended size unless that size is already mounted. Now, there are the rare occasions where you know the guy or they are extremely bored or they just don't give a f---. But that is company policy, I used to supervise the tire & lube dept.
