Guys... my son has an old '98 Dodge 3/4-ton gasser that looks like the devil, runs like an angel, but it is in bad need of ball joints. My question is how much of a job is it to replace them? I have read that, depending on model, etc., it can be one "H" of a job. I am just wondering if it's something we can do ourselves. I probably have access to all the required tools. Thanx!

They usually aren't too bad to replace. Sometimes difficult but not impossible. Depends on how seized in the pressed joints are. Some uppers are serviced by replacing the whole UCA. Ball joint press tool required for the lowers. Impact helpful

What they said. I did the lowers on my old '06 Ram 2500 2wd...wasn't too bad at all. and x2 again on the possibility of the uppers calling for replacement of the entire upper control arm.
