3.9 cummins jeep??

Never seen or heard of that, but I did like this part: "Front axle is a Dana 30, rear axle is a Dana 60. Gears are 4.10. These are the rare large housing gears that can take insane rock crawler gearing. Very hard to find!"

Bullshit. Now I'm not a Jeep Guru or anything, but the ONLY diesel I've heard of them putting in the Cherokee/Commanche platform was an anemic little Renault or Peugot 4-cylinder that would barely move the thing out of it's own way. I'd guess that's what this is. Dana 60? Never heard of that one coming under either of those, either. But if it will "literally" pull up the pavement, it must be badass.

Renault 2.1 L I4 turbodiesel is the only factory option I believe... However, I did a quick google search and apparantely the 4BTA is a pretty easy swap in the Comanche.. so probably someone just doesn't know what they have... Still cool IMO but worth way less.....

^
I got Nuthin' in the Stable compared to that Thoroughbred

Free "Bad to Da Bone" Bump...ease up on the roads..we gots no muneez to fix em...

I would have liked to have seen some better pics of the engine.I'm bettin it's not a Cummins. The only five speed Im aware of that works with a cummins, that would fit in that truck,it a NV4500.

Yeah its way over price especially even though the "body has just under 100k" and the trans is shot. yeah I knew you guys would get a kick out of this listing.

"I shelled all the teeth off 3rd gear pulling a loaded 2 car trailer over Saluda mountain. (Was going up the mountain at 60 when a car in front slowed down and I downshifted into 3rd. Went about 1000 ft and 3rd went out."

Who in the hell pulls a two car trailer with a damn MJ. dumbass

It's not stock, I'm no expert, but I don't think they'd run a boost tube like that. It could very well be a 4BT Cummins. You can adapt numerous 5 speed transmissions behind them. It might have an NV3500 or something along those lines that's not exactly considered strong.

I'd get some more pictures of under the hood to be sure, but it really looks like a 4BT to me.

comanche

its swapped in i emailed the guy ...sounds cool but still overpriced....someone said it may be a d60 out of an old mopar muscle car?

Yeah I emailed him and got a new engine pick and 2 rear axle pics...
the engine is almost definitely an IS series cummins...
he says it is a factory convo for the forest service...sounds doubtful but I wont say no...
here are 3 additional picks he sent me.

for that price it better have a real frame under it! still pretty awesome tho

*if* it has a 4b...that is a $2500 engine...the rest could be made in scrap

plus in his email he said he would take 2700

thanks for the additional info and pics. I always wanted a mj honey-do truck/mall crawler and it being a diesel was just an extra bonus! Plus everytime I get my tax return my mind wonders what else can sit in my drive way.
