Whats up guys,

i have a 3'' series II lift kit from Rough country, it came with shocks, coils, add-a-leaf, and LCA. today i went up to 4 wheel parts on glenwood and ordered 1.25-2'' Pro-comp spacers & Shackles, TC Drop, tac-bar relocater & brake line extensions..

Is this all i will need to properly lift my XJ up to 5'' or so?
i do have alot of vibration on the highway going about 55-60mph and they said the TC drop will help remove that and it's easier then getting a SYE (cause i don't have the money for that)

I just want to make sure, and run it by a few people just to be safe. because you never know if they just want the money & they are "legitly" helping you.

Thank you for the help guys,
the parts should be in next week, and i will post pics when it's done.

BTW - is it a pain in the A** to install Shackles on a XJ?
seems like it would be a pain, any advice?

Your front tires will hit the back of the fenderwell because your control arms will be a bit shorter than they need to be unless they are adjustable. They might not if your fenders are trimmed pretty good though. Also I would suggest some adjustable upper control arms so that your front pinion angle will be better.

But technically you have all the parts you will need for it to work.

i believe that the series II lift kit from RXC came with adjustable control arms.. but yes.. if you look at my picture..
i CHOPPED up my front fenders haha, to stuff my 33's.

but thank you for the post! glad to know i got the right gear.

the track bar will limit your flex with 5" lift. the bracket moves the bar down and over. moving it down will put it at more of an angle. i'd suggest getting an adjustable trac bar so you dont break the tapered stock POS. thats a bad experience. iron man sells a nice heavy duty one.

Well, thats alright. i wasn't expecting much more flex with shocks made for a 3'' lift and the coils also being a 3''... i just wanted to go up a little more for some "Stance"

but, when i have the money.. i will look into an adjustable one. or gettin full coils.
thank you for the advice.

going up to 5", your gonna want longer sway bar links, might as well just get quick disconnects longer than stock length if youre gonna be spending money.

uhh.... hahaah i chopped my sway bar off. hahahahahahha.

so why are you worried about "properly" lifting your XJ? :flipoff2:

has of right now, it's my DD.
and, i don't want to put the money into it... and have it fail on me. lol.

one questions about "properly" lifting.. will i be able to get away with 5'' with stock brake lines?

Stock break lines should be fine with that amount of lift but they will pull tight at full flex. I'd suggest going ahead and changing them out for some longer ones just in case. Head to NAPA and get a set of front rubber breaklines for a 1995 Chevy 1500 2wd. It was about $30 I think and I run them on mine and have plenty of slack left at full flex.

Awesome man, thank you for the clear post!
I will do that!

did they fit right on, or did you have to fab a little bit?

I bent the metal hose part that bolts onto the caliper into an L shape so that it would clear everything. It does not affect anything mechanically as long as the hose stays open and doesn't crease. Other than that everything bolted right up. If you have any issues with it PM me.
