3 or 4 link with radius arm

Similar to a TJ long arm set-up, whats the general concensus on this? Due to simplicity and space saving, I've been looking into this. I would be running JJs on the frame end of the links, bushings on the axle end, and large heims on the radius arms. Is a 3 or 4 link the best way to go with this set up? I was looking at running this and use the 14" travel Fox 2.0s with it, because I could bolt them up into where my shocks currently are. Input?

Assuming your running this in the front. 3 link for regular steering, 4 link with full hydro. W/ air shocks from, what i've seen, you'll want to run a sway bar of some kind.

I assume I would still need the panhard with a sway bar? Also, for the radius arms, are heims on both ends appropriate or is it best to have a heim on the link end and a bushing on the other?

I'm also looking at the Poly Performance front 3 link kit, but it seems that even a 4 link radius arm option would be more cost effecient. What do you guys think?

On my truck a 4-link wasn't going to be too feasible because of the height and where the oil pan would interfere. I'm not sure what your setup is intended to be, so it's hard to say.

Assuming you are talking about the vehicle in your signature, I don't see a 3-link or 4-link being much more expensive than the other...depending on what you plan to make or buy though.

Another question that has to deal with general 4 links - with a double triangulated 4-link, would it be feasible (mounting wise it would.. just curious about integrity and how it works) to mount the frame end of the uppers and lowers in the same link mount, similar to an adjustable link mount... just mounting the upper close to the frame and the the lower at the bottom of the bracket. Because they would be mounted inline with the frame, the lowers wouldn't have too much triangulation, but somewhat.

Do 3 (or 4) links with radius arms have a particular side of the axle that they should be mounted on? The side with the housing maybe? I'm mainly just shopping for multi-link ideas... thanks for the input.

on my last jeep i used some traction bar mounts on the axle for the radius arm mounts and it worked easy. if it were me id do a triangulated 4 link using JJ,s. u can run the lower links off the rails straight down to your lower mounts and triangulate the upper links from the inside of the rails to some truss coming off the diff.

It all really depends on what you want. If you run some type of radius arm then you have to run a panhard. You don't need to run a panhard with a triangulated 4 link, but they are a lot harder to design properly. Thats why most aftermarket jeep tj suspensions are radius arm designs, they are harder to screw up. If it were me, I would go with the radius arm, simple and cheap. Put a heim where the two links meet at then bushings at the axle end and you'll be fine. Good luck.
