302 to C6

I have a 73 Bronco with a 302 and can get a good deal on a C6 from a 78 F-150. What would I need to do to bolt these together.

I have yet to see a small block patterned C6 from a 78 F150 4wd? After 1980 for sure but not pre 79? C6's have integrated bellhousings and this swap will not be possible if it's a big block pattern.
Anyways, they bolt right together if it's indeed a small block pattern C6. Probably need new tranny mount fabbed for an EB and re-running the exhaust will probably be an issue due to the frame width of an EB doesn't support the width of a C6. Anything is do-able though for I've seen this upgrade done. I'm sure a 2" body lift would probably help cure the exhaust issue. Just be sure it's a small block pattern C6 or they will not be matable period...
Also keep in mind that small block C6's are usually mated to a NP208 (post '1980) which is shorter tail shaft than required for NP205 (pre 1979). If purchasing, try to get the C6 and t-case mated to make sure you have all the parts needed from tranny - back.

Good luck! If you need any more advice feel free to PM!

Do you have a stock 302? Is the bronco trans working fine at the moment? Don't do it either way. The c4 is plenty strong and the c6 will only add weight and suck (much) more power.
Otherwise, what he's saying is true...it probably won't work anyway.

yep. you can find c4's easily anyways and build them or just get an AOD if its street friendly.

only the c6 behind the 300 six cyl. will fit a 302. or just find a c6 behind a 351 w in an 80's econoline and swap the case with a 351m/400.

what they said is true. keep the c4 . if your worried about it , put some good clutches in it and a deep pan and a good servo.
