So I'm going to be lifting my Cherokee within the next few months, but I would like to get some better tires under it first, would 30's fit under the stock suspension? I don't want to try 31's because I know that even lifted the will grab the LCA's a little

30's will fit. Hammer down the pinch weld seams, be prepared to trim the genders.

Alright thanks guys, I'm thinking that I'm gonna go bastard pack and ZJ V8 coils for a 2" lift for now, than when I have more time/money, I'll go on up to 3"-4" or something

I ran em on my xj for a little while with no problem before i lifted it. Just put a washer or two under the steer stop bolts. You'll lose a little turning radius but it's not that bad. Wouldn't take it on the trail like that though...

Or just cut some sheet metal off :)

I was able to run 30x9.50s on my 84 at less than stock height (worn out springs) the only issue I had was rubbing the LCA's at full turn.

An hour with a sawzall and you can fit 31/10.50/15 and you can wheel it this way to. All I did was removed the flares, I then proceeded to cut right where the hole goes through the body. In the back I just hammered the sheet metal flat. The front was similar just cut the front in a couple more place bent a section then cut excess off.
