Many on here know of Dylan's deal w/ the XJ Raffle for the URE 4x4Cross, and that I was the fortunate recipient.
In short - I won a rather, er, rough '89 XJ, along w/ a paid entry for the race, to be run in virtually stock form.
This has become affectionately known as "the $30 XJ".
So after some thought, I decided to pass along my good fortune.
I'm using this Jeep and my race opportunity to raise money for my favorite charity, the National Organization for Albinism and Hyperpigmentation (NOAH).
This is one of those little-known organizations that really means a lot to a very select group of people - and as such, rarely receives much public attention or large donation funding.
NOAH provides support (both infomatic and emotional) for folks with various forms of albinism. Their ebsite is here: http://www.albinism.org/

Why NOAH?
Well, very few people would pick up on this me, but I'm an Ocular Albino. Essentially I have a severre lack of pigmentation in the RPE of my eyes. I'll be glad to explain all the physiology of this more, but that's more of an over-beer  sort of discussion.
Fortunately for me, my case is rather mild; even still, it has greatly affects my vision, to the extent that I've had to have many battles w/ the DMV for an unrestrcted license; those of you with poor vision know this is something that affects every activity of daily life. It is certainly one of the primary influences for my interest and career in neuroscience.

OK enough sappiness.

Here's the deal. Many racers have collected sponsorships of various kinds to cover the costs of building their race rig, registration, etc. Since I don't have most of those expenses, I am instead collecting sponsorship to go directly to NOAH as a donation.
I'm doing this two ways - "by the foot" and "by the sq inch".

---By the Foot
This is the classic method for most sporting events. The race couyrse is roughly 2.7 mi. I'm doing it twice. Now we all know that it's very possible teh $30 XJ wll not survive - esp if it rains....
This is just a commitment to sponsor by (approximately) how many feet I make it. something liek 1 cent per foot is a suggestion (it adds up!).
Afer the race, I will report back and collect the donations.

---By the Sq Inch
This Jeep looks pretty rough. Needs some color. So I'm offering the opportunity to paint it ANY WAY YOU WANT, any color, any style, whatever. now tehre isn't al ot of time before the race, so I'm offeriong myslef, my wife, or my 3 y/o son to "paint by proxy". You just tell what yoy want done.
Sicne this is a family event and I'm a family guy driving thsi thing around town, I do maintain veto power only for potentially offensive content.
Space goes for $0.25 per sq inch, fundged as needed to match partc etc. Rear hatch for only $100 and the whole hood for, say, $200...
*I need to recieve confirmation of payment before I will paint*
Payment:

You can either send me money directly via cash ir PayPal, or I have set of a website with FirstGiving, where you can donate through them and it goes directly to NOAH. However they take out a (small) admin fee.
