31's or 33's

you have two issues...

the first is getting the Jeep to move in general...assuming you have 4.10 gears? (you didn't say auto or 5-spd, and some of the autos had 3.73 paired with the 4-bangers)...it'll be sluggish around town either way, but somewhat livable with the 4.10's...

the other is clearance, and you'll be all into the fenders (assuming they're stock) if you wheel it and disconnect the front sway bar...you'd be a lot better off if you really wanted 33's to add a 1" or 1.25" BL...

31's would be a great setup, and you could do a belly-up skid instead, which would be the equivalent of going from say 31's to 37's as far as breakover angle goes...

a buddy of mine blew the engine out in a 4-banger a few years back with 35's on it. that's why i'm weary of getting 33's. prob. gonna stick with 31's. looking for take offs.

If you plan to keep it streetable, stick with 31s. I had my 4 banger TJ for 3 years as my daily driver with a 2" BB and 31" Trxus MTs. I actually drove it to CO and back twice like that. It was decent on the highway. The only time it really struggled is going across Kansas on I-70. A 4 banger in a Jeep + an uphill grade + a headwind = struggle! My Jeep hates Kansas and so do I! Honestly, an open highway and wind is your biggest enemy in a Jeep. Wind affected my Jeep much more than any hill did. That's what happens when you're driving the aerodynamic equivalent of a brick wall! The Jeep is now recreational only and sports 33x13.50 LTBs. It would SUCK as a daily driver!

yea, for the time being my jeep'll be a daily driver. therefore 31's would be ideal. still looking if anyone has a set for sell....
