It's whenever she's cold and I first shift into gear... it only lasts a few seconds till it fades out. It won't do it if it's relatively warm outside. It's louder when I shift into reverse though. The fluid level's okay and it doesn't smell burned. It only has been doing this since my last wheeling trip to Tellico.

What IS a 32RE ?

Knowing what this is and where it resides would be pretty helpfull in maybe diagnosing the issue.

for the rest of the class, how 'bout explaining that this is an automatic trans ?

INFORMATION, the more offered up, the more you get in return.

Referring to this link may be of assitance....

Please don't think I am picking on you, info really does help us all out, you're new, and may not know.

Being that an automatic trans doesn't actually have gears that enguage and disenguage like a manual, I'd guess it's a clutch pack chattering. Change the fluid AND the filter and go from there. It's the cheapest place to start. You might also put in a transmission conditioner too. I personally prefer BG products.
