I think a 33 on a 17 looks great, specially soft 8s. Still plenty of sidewalk flex.

Ran 33"s on 17's on my JK for the last 2 years. They were fine and had plenty of flex to them off road. Ride good on the road too.

Lots of vehicles come stock w/ 32ish" tires on 17" wheels.
One guy here brought his JK for led lights and rockstar grill installation. He recently go with this set up and he is very impressed with looks and performance on the trail.
