Have a 73 landcruiser with 350 conversion. Will try my best to make sense of this. I have just completed the whole 350/sm465/3 speed transfer install. Everything seemed to be working together correctly however I probably haven't put 50 miles on the truck. The install went as follows, 350 engine to specified bellhousing with dual friction centorforce clutch to sm465 per treeroot install with woody's aluminum adapter to 3 speed t-case.
I am having this problem. When i try and shift into gear, more so 1st and reverse i have quite a bit of difficulty, sometimes having to double clutch, and sometimes having to let the clutch out just a bit to engage. Let me first say the final adjustments were done by a local cruiser shop here in Raleigh.
The second problem i am having is that when i am on a decline and put the truck in first or reverse and let the clutch out to move the truck it works fine. However when i push the clutch all the way down to disengage the truck binds and on an incline the truck will actually hold itself in place while the clutch is to the floor. When in reverse the truck will go backwards but the minute you press the clutch in to the floor the truck stops and seems to bind immediately.
Has anyone ever experienced this before, the transmission was built by Krzyabncanuck as was the engine and transfer case. I first thought the clutch may be out of adjustment however this to me seems more transmission than anything. Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated....
