351w problems

I got a 86 f150 that was originally a 4.9 I swaped that for a 85 model 351w think I got all the wires straight all Gage's work truck starts right up idles fine revs up fine when I give it has it runs ok but when I get down on it it will start running like shit cutting off skipping don't know what it could be engine has a edlebrock preformer intake holly 600 cfm carb and the truck is a 4 speed any help would be appriciated

Sounds like a crappy holley/vacuum secondary problem rather than ford specific problem.

It's a brand new carb I've never had any problems out of a holly in the past
