Question for y'all, I have a set of 37 12.50 16.5 miltary tires and want to run them as my street tires on my yj. I have a 9" and spacers up front so the bolt pattern is 5x5.5 all the way around. Now i can get a set of 16.5x6.75 on summit. Do you thnk those wheels will be to skinny? I was thinking it would help hold the tire on the rims since no safety bead on the 16.5. Just in case I do decide to cut and run them as my off road tire instead of my iroks. I hate running them on the street especially with my spool, main reason I want to run thw cheap miltary tires. Thanks!

6.75 would probably baloon them tires out so much you'd be riding only on the middle 2 lugs. If they make 5 on 5.5 press inserts for humvee then that would be the cheapest way to go???

If not, to run cheap Military tires on a 5 on 5.5 lug pattern you need expensive wheels... But if just for the street, you don't have to worry about messing up those nice wheels. you'd want at least 8" wide if not 10". I paid $850 for mine 12 years ago from Tyres International. Most likely price is higher today.

You want 8-9" wheels I think 10 would be to much

I know I don't want 10s, I was just thinking the 6.75 would help keep the tire from popping off the rim if I aired them down. Wheels are 80$ each on summit so not that expensive, choices are 6.75 8.25 and 9.75

8.25

Pressed centers for h1 wheels are like $49 a piece. You wont have to worry about losing a bead with the double bead locks.
