396 heads

This may sound dumb to some,but I need some help. I just put my 396 heads back together and getting ready to bolt them down. But do the heads gon on either side or is their a passenger side and driver side? I was thinking it doesn't matter they both look the same.

Just make sure the threaded holes for the alt and acc. are on the front. Most heads have them on both ends, but I have seen some older ones that are only on one end.
