I've got this set, and it works just fine for what it is. No sense in dropping 3x the amount if you have a Harbor Freight around somewhere.

There is a 5500U (ultra) that used the same size gear but it was brass fro the factory.
I went through this about 3 years ago. That brass gear cost me ~$25...but uit solved the issue and I love that reel for fast water stripers.

Not yet. My Grandma who we moved in with us back in October passed away last week. Lot of stuff going on. Hope to get to it here soon though. I will be sure and update the thread
