Since '06 I have had a revtek coil spacer/ top out spacer on the front struts of my '00 4runner, that I racked up about 50k miles with. They did not articulate what-so-ever, and were generally all around unimpressive. This past week I decided to invest in the bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks for these vehicle models. Today I got around to assembling them at the 2.5" mark with a .25" revtek top out spacer. There is a WORLD of a difference between the two. The bilsteins have high speed valving, allowing them to soak up the bumps quite nicely at speed, but they are also much more prone to compression and droop than my old struts. Just thought I would share this with anybody that might wheel or DD an IFS 4runner or tacoma and looking for improvements.
By the way, I got both shocks at $185 for the pair from Wheeler's. Definitely a worthy investment.
