Does anyone know if you can buy just the mirror piece to a 3rd gen dodge power flip up mirror? Or am I going to have to buy the whole mirror? Anyone selling a driver side one?

On the way home tonight some one swerved in front of me and I had to swerve and I clipped a sign post and this was the result

My passenger side one is broken. I need a replacement too.

Rock Auto sells them. $50-60/side, depending on who made it, whether left or right, etc....

It looks like I also need the backing plate the glass sits on, mine must have some broken clips on the back. I can't seem to find the glass and backing plate, besides rockauto, anyone have any other places to try?

Somebody I was talking to about mirrors bought one from Rock Auto, and they said it vibrated at vehicle speed making the image blurry. Apparently it was noticably lighter/thinner/cheaper than stock. I'm not sure what I am going to do. Mine has been broken for about 2 yrs or more now, but I would like to replace it.

I haven't bought mirrors for a dodge but I got a set of mirrors for a 01 Powerstroke for 125 for both sides, I couldn't find just the parts of the mirror I needed like you've said

Sounds like OEM Mopar to me....

Pretty sure that somebody was me, with the second gen fixed mirrors. Being the third owner of my 98 ram, I can't be sure that the mirrors are oem mopar, but they are pretty solid and very stable I didn't think to look, or can't remember if I looked, when I replaced one after I got sideswiped. I figured I'd try the china special from rockauto (probably the same junk offered everywhere) because the price was super cheap. Turns out, this POS is almost unusable, unless I'm just trying to pass inspection. It begins shaking at low speeds, and you really have to focus a while to "see" in it.

Well just to wrap up this thread; I couldn't seem to find the right piece of glass online so I went to my local auto glass shop and they ordered the right piece and installed it, came to a total of $40, which is cheaper than buying a whole new mirror.

I was also going to say Geno's. I have been getting good stuff from them for years.
