Trying to figure out what to do about my 3rd link mount, right now I really dont like the way it turned out. I used 1 1/2 .120 dom now I'm second guessing the strength, I planned on bracing it to the panhard mount on the axle and putting gussets on the tabs at the heim joint, but I'm still afraid of it ripping the tabs out of the piece of tube. I am very limited on room because I mounted the engine as low possable and my ride hight is low also. Already changed the oil pan to a rear sump to gain some room. Also the holes on the tube are to mount in with the diff cover. If anyone can post pics of there setup or one they have seen that would help point me in the right direction, or any suggestions I would appreciate. Thanx.

That might work with something on 35's and a dana 44 but not a big tires and a d60. I would rather take my chances welding a link mount to the center section than with that 1.5" tube, especially being that one link is pretty critical. Could you do some sort of close to the diff plate truss and mount to that?

I don't think I would trust a 0.120" wall 'bent' panhard rod. It doesn't seem like it would take too much force to fold it up at the bends.

I just realized you are asking about the 3rd link mount, not the panhard. I will say that I have seen multiple pictures posted on the internet of failed 3rd links/ 3rd link mounts. It always results in catastrophic damage to the rest of the front end. The whole front axle assembly rotates breaking the following:

- coilovers or air shock lower ends, springs
- Front DS, u-joint, yoke, or pinion gear
- brake lines
- drag link or other steering components

Don't skimp on the 3rd link or its mounting. It is too important.
