I guess they really do crack a lot :flipoff2: (to Jeep)
I have a Doug Thorley header on mine now.
Bought one of the cheaper ones the first time it cracked. Price was right. It cracked in the same spot, even though this one had the "flex pipe" thingie to guarantee it wouldn't crack after about a year to year and a half.
:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
So I bought a used one from a guy that was parting out his xj
Cheaper, (well same price after gaskets)
And we'll see how this one does. It's been about 8 months?
something like that?

Here's the new stock Manifold, $120:

Here's a "looks like a" header
for $150:

From my reading: If you're goal is low track times then get a true header. A header will shift the power band to the high rpms. The above 2 will retain the low-end torque. Many will simply have their cracked manifold repaired/welded, but most shops will not weld while on-vehicle.
