I was wondering where everyone gets their rebuild kit for their 88 model cherokee 4.0 ltr. Also when doing this rebuild is there any common problems that they are known for

i don't know that one place is any better than the other as far as buying the parts, just as long as they are quality parts
i've been working on chrysler, dodge, jeeps for awhile bumper to bumper and i'm sure everyone would agree that you are not going to know what kinda problems are there until you get it apart , if you have machine work done make sure it's a reputable shop

I usually buy them from my machine shop, unless it's a specialty part the they are not a vendor of. They've always treated me good, and given me wholesale prices on the parts. THey make their money on doing high quality machine work, not retail parts sales.

i understand all that. i have a good machine shop, i just wondered if there were any common problems with the jeeps. ive done toyota, chevy, dodge motors but never a jeep, just wondered

While you're at it check out some of the stroker kits that are availible if you interested in some more power. Hesco comes to mind, but I'm sure there are several others.
