4.0 Oil Leaking

Just picked up a cherokee that leaks a good amount of oil from the oil filter. I'm not sure if there is a gasket/O-ring or what in there. Anyone have any idea? Any info would be great.

Theres totally an o-ring in there, should come as part of a new filter.

The oil filter adapter housing has 3 o-rings that seal it to the block. The kit is less than $10 at the dealer.

Advance auto has a kit with like 8 o-rings in it. could that be it?

Not sure, only uses 3...

2 smaller ones (1" ish) and 1 larger one (2.5" ish)

just weld it together, you shouldnt have to change your oil filter anyway lol

The Advance kit probably covers several models. Find the ones that fit. It probably also covers the distributor o-ring, (another common leak,) and the dipstick o-ring.

Thank everyone for the help. I was planning on doing it yesterday but i couldnt find a t60 torx bit to that would fit, and i became lazy. I hope to get it done this after noon.
