4.0 oil pressure questions

Okay I got a 02 wrangler 4.0 seems like the oil pressure gauge is working right anyways it idles about 70 and driving stays on 80. Changed the oil last night first crank went up to 40 then slowly built up from there. Anyone think it's working right or? I've never seen one anywhere close to 80 and ones I did stayed there whole time

Only way to know for sure is to hook up a mechanical gauge and see for yourself...

My dad's S10 is kinda the same way. I'm pretty sure it's the sending unit. I agree with Jody, a mechanical gauge will always tell you the truth! Just rig one up temporarily and see what it says.

Yea that's what I figured I'd have to do just wondered if anyone else had same issues and fixes
