4.0l won't start....

A few months ago I re-routed some of the wiring when I removed the inner fenders. I connected everything back very meticulously circuit by circuit. Jeep ran fine before so I'm positive I've mixed a wire up somewhere. However, I went over everything last night with the test light and everything seems to be in order?

92xj 4.0l swapped into an 87 yj. Motor turns over but won't crank. I have fuel pressure at the rail, power to the coil, but it appears I'm not getting spark from distributor. Plugs, rotor, cap, CPS all replaced within the past 2 years or so. What am I missing guys?

TIA.

I'd bet it has something to do with the cps. The cps connector itself can be finicky and shitty. Do it like a nintendo, take the connector apart and blow in it then put it back together...maybe with some dielectric grease. Then if nothing, steal one off another jeep and try it. You can ohm it but that doesn't always work.

:edit: Stupidass chrysler electronics.

I went ahead and replaced the coil to eliminate all possibilities. I'm getting power to the coil as I should but I have nothing leaving the distributor...leaving me with no spark?

Thoughts/Comments?

Guessing CPS, might check wiring at Distributer, mine sheared during race, once started it would run fine, but once you cut it off would not start back. One of the wires from the distributer, provided the initial pressure for the fuel pump, weird

Thanks for the input Brad. I thought about changing the CPS out to eliminate one more thing. I have a spare in the toolbox but it is used.

Can't you just rob parts off Macs junk to eliminate possibilities?....Or is he planning on wheeling soon:lol:

Who are you kiddin Josh. Thats gonna be Sam's backup rig. Taking 2 rigs every weekend is the only way to go when youre a semi professional race car driver and amateur hill killer.

Im confident that's probably the first and most likely the last time that's ever been or going to be said.

Last time we used his plan I got stitches
