Alright, so the ole 1.3 is now toast, i already have a running v6 with transmission for an s-10 2wd. I am planning on running the stock case with my 6.5:1s in it behind the 2wd trans, im at 100wb now linked and coiled so drivelines arent an issue but what im wondering is if the case will hold up or not, it is a non-vortec so wont have quite the power a vortec will. But ive been trying to research it and its a pretty even 50-50 answer if the case will hold up or not, the fail ive seen mostly was the actual case not the gears. So whats yalls experience, i am building as rock-solid case mount as i can to give the case as much support as possible and im am running some pretty slick 36s with an open front end, i dont like to give up, so it gets drove pretty hard. Whats your opinion, will it hold up or not?

No. Have a friend that ran one behind his boosted 22R in a very lightweight single seat buggy. He kept a spare case built for when it failed and it did more than once. He was breaking the gears I believe. I think TG has a lifetime warranty on them though;) .

yeah the warranty is pretty much whats giving me the green light to go ahead and try it....if they fly all to pieces then ill get new ones and sell them to fund a yota case more then likely....would like to get a little wheeling time before they do go though

The Sami TC will explode. I would used a Yota case if possible. I wouldn't swap a Chevy 4.3 V6 in a Sami though because the whole point of a Samurai is being light weight.

well i thought about a 1.6 but after driving one i wasnt satisfied, wanted more power....and now on yotas 3 and 4-linked and stretched, theres not much samurai there left to try and keep a super light weight rig, still trying to keep it light but the stock 2000lbs is gone im sure

If you are set on using the 2wd tranny you've got, I'm not sure what other divorced cases are out there that are not stupid heavy with bad low range ratios like a NP205. Might be better off swapping to a 4wd tranny, then you will have more TC options.

well i was just using it because its whats there right now, most other divorced cases have awful low ranges and dont really want to have to regear my axles right now....seen some people you have kinda nigger rigged a divorced toyota case using a cut up trans so might try that, its strictly an off road rig so keeping it driving right on the road isnt a problem

ive done a lot of research on what will work for sure, but money is a big problem right now so just trying to use what i got as much as i can until i have to get something else

I've got a vortec 4.3 that came out of a samurai buggy in the FS section.

i already have a motor sitting ready to go in it, just have to get time to get it all swapped and get my wiring down to just what i need to run
