4.6 bored over, what is this?

hey was just wondering what is a 4.6 stroker? would the 4.0 inline 6 fit in its place or what? sombeody please explain this to me im confused

Same engine just the 4.0 has been bored and strocked up to a 4.6. People also make 4.7s out of the 4.0s

There are probably 3 threads on this topic in the past month of people doing them just on NC4x4. Basically you take a 4.0 block, head, and pistons, and the crankshaft and connecting rods from a 4.2 (258, like out of the CJ's), and put it all together, and you get a 4.5 liter engine. When you overbore by 30 thousandths of an inch, it is a 4.6, and 60 thousandths is a 4.7 liter.

does boring it chagne the engine mounts or any of the wiring? would the original inline 6 fit in its place?

All changes are internal. Nothing changes as far as engine mounts or wiring.
