I'm putting ARB :rolleyes:lockers on my 2011 jk. I thought while I'm there I would go ahead and put in 4.88 gears. Is this a good thought. I mostly run around town, but I will need to run on the highway for trips. Will I be able to go 70mph without high rev's? I'm running 33" MTZ right now and thinking of going to 35" or 37". While I'm asking should I put Chrome alloy up front in the Dana 30.

Do you have a 6 speed or auto?
4.88 seems pretty low for 35s and def for 37 if you have an auto
I spend a lot of time on JKowners since I'm a vendor on there too but you may want to check that site out, they have plenty of threads on gears/tires/rpm on the highway.
As far as the 37s on the go on the Dana 30 its really not that bad. JKs don't really make enough power to break anything. I've seen two guys run 40s on the D30 with no breakage on the trail, I don't recommend it but its happening. Make sure you have tube sleeves and gussets before you dump a dime in that front axle.
At the end of the day you may be better off trying to find a front D44 out a Rubicon, it'll give you your selectable locker and a little more piece of mind on 37s. We've done a couple of these so let me know if you have any questions or feel free to come by the shop.
