After bending another set of rear leaf springs this weekend I am starting to plan out a 4 link for the back of my trooper. I started messing with the 4 link calculator, but have a few basic questions on what numbers to shoot for. I know every set up is different, but what are good number to shoot for when it comes to Anti squat, roll center height, roll axis angle, and instant center for the x and y axis.

I have read through the thread on pirate
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=168577&highlight=link
but I did not see any ideal numbers to shoot for.

I would love to hear some different opinions, especially from you guys that have built multiple 4 link set ups.

I have a feeling thats how I will end up doing it, but I think the calculator will help get a starting point. I'll have to talk to RK and get some measurements from his 4 link.

OK...really rough rules of thumb that should get ya started-

links as long as possible before you worry too much about bending them
AS under 100
RC in the 20's
RA close to zero (but don't beat yourself up too much about this)
IC as far in front of the rig as you can get it.

The other big thing is look at it through ~10" of travel and make sure everything stays close to the same.. it's meaningless if it's perfect at ride height but goes to shit after 2" of travel..

so what happens if the instant center is not infront of the rig? Mine stays between 60-70".

IIRC, the behavior seems to be more inconsistent through the range of travel when the IC is that close.

Raising the axle end of the lowers or lowering the frame end of the lowers will probably help with that?

also, it will affect the AS some as well, depending on how high it is...
