Since good joints are a big investment $$ wise I want to see what everybody is using on there rigs??
I will be running them on my J-10 with a double triangulated 4 link set-up on the rear Dana 60.
Let me know what ya got.
Poly Perfomance has some nice looking uni-ball weld on's.
Or I could use rod ends.
Thanks for the help:beer:

Your going to find......

that a vast majority use one of the uniball style joints for a street driven vehicle for the longer life of the joints. Many also use them on trail only rigs for the cost but on trail only vehicles 10,000 miles is alot of driving and many will move up to the larger heim joints for more strength and articulation. With the heim joints long life (milage wise) isn't really a factor because they just dont last too long when driven on the street (5-8,000 miles) and the uniball type are rebuildable, some easier than others.

I'm using the Forged Jonny joints, they are pretty dang cheap for what they are, but RE's can be adjusted for wear, which is nice.

But when you are ordering 20 joints, even a $10 difference per adds up.

Rich got all his from me. I have left and right handed currie ones in stock as well as REs and Summit Machine Joints.

Hey Andy
I called you this morning about a rollcage for my J-10....I have a bad feeling I am going to spend a lot of money will you in the near future:rolleyes:
I am leaning toward the rebuildable uni-ball/RE joint. I will not be on the street much, but like rebuildable stuff.

The Currie is rebuildable, you just can't tighten it as it wears.

Correction Rich......you can actually purchase a shim kit to tighten them up.....

:)

Hmmm, didn't know that. Interesting. I haveta wonder if it's an easier than just rebuilding them though?

i bought all my johnny joints straight from currie...free shipping and they are $35 a piece

Are you guys running Flex joints at both ends? or at one end with a urethane joint at the other end? I did RE's at one end with Urethanes at the other to save some money. Never had any binding that I know of.

I'm running them at both ends, since they have bushings to help absorb some impact, I don't think I would run heims at both ends though, especially if it was going to see street time.

I run heims on both ends. 3/4"x3/4". I should have gone with the 5/8" for a little more meat but they seem to be holding fine. They are a little more pricey than they used to be. When I first got them they were $26, now they are $45 :shaking:
