4 shot on off-road outing in Texas

Wonder how many beers they had in them before they started shooting? What a couple of dumbasses.

They "thought" they were shooting them because they were trespassing??? Who in their right mind would shoot at what was probably quite clearly a family with kids? From the pictures of the shooters I would venture a guess they might have had more in them than beer (crackheads?)...

So contrary to what the news story headline says, they weren't actually offroading.

huh?

"The victims, who were off-roading near a residential area about 40 miles northeast of Houston, were struck with shotgun pellets late Thursday after stopping their vehicles near the Trinity River..."
"...After the shootings, Coffey's wife, who also was riding in the SUV, drove the vehicle to a nearby fire station..."

how were they not off-roading?
Or you just mean b/c it was a county road it dosn't count?

well

i sure hope wheeling around here dose not get so bad to shoot at people and wound them ,and kill. that drunk sob would of shot my kid there wouldn't be anything left to arrest. too bad that people cant even take their kids wheeling and get away from all the killing in the world....

^^^^^No doubt, one shot at my kids and they will die, I fing promise that.
That breaks my heart for the kids dad.

Were they wheeling legally? Regardless no one needs to shoot a trespasser w/o engaging in conversation first atleast. Unless it's in my house or close by. But them being in or near their vehicle probable in a remote area of the property doesn't constitute a shooting.

I wonder when they will uncover the meth lab on that guys property b/c if he is going to be shooting at what he must of thought were midgets and not children near his property he must have been on something and protecting something (besides their possesions and the levy)

Well at least the suspects are in a cage now where they belong! Bunch of savages!

Yeah, even in Texas that is over the top. Stuff like that is the reason that I carry. I don't ever want to be killed for a lack of being able to shoot back.

Did you read the article? It said they were on public land, on a "county road" and had stopped to, er, "visit" thw water so the kids could, er, relieve themselves.

They look like meth-heads to me.

Sorry could you not tell I was being a little sarcastic w/ the statement about wheeling legally? But it said the people thought they were on their land. Still not a reason to shoot at them. My guess is they were too close to their MJ field.

Rereading it, it seems a bit more vague now:
"Bishop said the area includes a dirt road, trees and overgrown brush and that it wasn't uncommon for people to go off-roading there."
and
"DeFoor said the levee belonged to the subdivision and was not private property. "

But "dirt road, trees, overgrown brush, levee, subdivision" are not words I would associate with offroading.
