465/205 adapter

well I was at the farm this weekend and broke my adapter for my trans. I am running the 10 spline output 465 and 10 spline input on my 205. it uses a figure 8 fairly large adapter and a female coupler to mate the trans to the t-case. I have broken that setup twice now. anyone got any ideas why? and do they make a aftermarket case that works with the 10 spline output on my trans? if not i was looking at a much beefier adapter and run a extension off my skid to mount to my t-case with a bushing. ideas please

btw if anyone saw I was the white k5.
 
Most times, if you are breaking the adapter you don't have the drive train supported correctly. The engine/tranny/tcase are moving independently and the weak link breaks. Are you using the factory mounts? What condition are they in? Have you added additional support anywhere? Need losts more information.
 
i am using the factory mounts on the adapter with a beefed up skid. i do not have any mounts on the 205. think it would help if I made a mount for it?
