Apollo 11 landed on the moon. I was 6, and stayed glued to the tv.

My grandfather worked on the design of a few of the Apollo program Lunar Modules and Lunar Landers while at Grumman. Thanks for the memory jog...

Lol. I was home sick from kindergarten and I remember being pissed when the breaking news interrupted Looney tunes because Challenger blew up! That's my first TV memory.

Yea, WOW. I watched JFK's funeral procession when I was 3 on b/w tv. It's the only early memory that I can place in time. Moon landing later. Challenger... man, that shook me up.

We've not done enough exploring since - need to get back out there and stop watching sci-fi as a substitute!

I was in school, when the Principal announced Kennedy had been shot. Got teary eyed. Watched the Apollo landing, or saw it on the News. That was Exciting! Went into a bank & they were talking about the Challenger. Got home, watched it on the News, & cried. The 9/11 attack, is approaching it's 15th year. For those of you with kids.

For 9/11 I was test driving a focus I had rebuilt and reinstalled the transmission in on the 10th. I finished up early on the 11th and hit the road, Ford wanted us to test drive 15 miles on major repairs back then so I was cruising around listening to the radio when they broke in about the first crash. I got back to the shop starting telling the other techs what I heard when someone in the shops radio broke in about the second crash. We watched the news in the break room mist of the morning, not much was getting done at a dealer a few miles off Ft Bragg.
