4l60e tranny performance build ?

Im putting a 550-600 hp 383 in my truck looking for a good place to build my 4l60e transmission to hold the power any body know of a good place in nc ?

If you honestly think your 383 is going to make that kind of power, then a 4l60 is a poor start.

I agree, trucks more for show an highway than anything just fixing it up an want to use the stock tranny for now going to go with a 400 turbo eventually just trying get it back together for the time being

Why not start with a 4l80?

I actually have one i could use i just figured id have to make alot modifications like different t-case ,drive shafts ,linkages ,mounts ,ect..

A 4L60E or 700R4 will reliably hold quite a bit more power than most people give them credit for. Granted, any kind of transmission that's been built for serious power won't be cheap, but it can be done. I think RPM Transmissions has been throwing 1200-1400hp through 4L60Es in some drag cars for a while. Pretty impressive.

A customer of mine is running a RPM level 10 4l60 in his 2010 camaro with about 950 hp at the input. Runs drag radials in a 4200lb car and he hasn't have a problem with it yet. I have also had a couple 700s and 4l60s built by a local company in Monroe, Josh's transmissions. Couple behind mild small blocks, one behind an LS3 and another behind a 525hp 454 in a chevelle, all of which have been trouble and leak free. He has redone some that were gone through other places and failed.
