does anyone out there know alot about toyota engine swaps.i have a 1988 4runner with a 3.0 v6 looking to go to a different toyota 6cyl trying to see about harness changes and if anything will work with my auto tranny.thanks for any help.also who makes the best sas kit and what axles would you use i want to run 33's on it

you need a pedal assembly.....I have one for 20 bucks

3.4 will work, need motor with harness and accesories, all accesories. I can get you everything but the motr and what is bolte dtoo, motor was sold already.

Yo,
I think www.yotatech.com has a great post on a 3.4 swap. Intake hits hood and you will have to cut a hole in it and put on some kind of scoop or bump. If I find it again I will send you the link.
You may want to rebuild the 3.0, add stainless headers and a free flow intake. That is about as good as it gets for a low budget rebuild. If engine is in good condition, take block to shop and don't bore it out but knurl pistons and install iron rings. They easily seat. I do all my rebuilds, some really marginal, with iron Hastings rings. This is a no headache cure. Can always do a 5 speed swap. For a few bucks, you will be happy.
