The Fall Crawl at Black Mountain Offroad Adventure Area near Harlan, Kentucky, is the weekend of October 22. Open all day, all hear 'round, with 150 miles of marked and rated trails in beautiful country, this is an event not to be missed!

The 4Wheel Parts Ultra4 Glen Helen Grand Prix is at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, CA, this weekend. The gates will open at 9am on Saturday, October 22, with racing scheduled to begin at 11am, and you can watch live coverage at ultra4racing.com.

The race format will be 2 hours of racing, a one hour break and 2 more hours of racing. The driver with the most laps after 4 hours of racing wins. This will be the first time Glen Helen will host an Ultra4 Racing event and the 3.5 mile course will combine Glen Helen’s short course with their steep back-country trails. Spectators will have a great opportunity to see the big horsepower, unlimited 4-wheel drive machines up close and personal on jumps, hills, bumps, turns, washes, fast straight-aways and canyon areas.

The top 10 non-qualified teams will qualify for the 2012 Griffin King of The Hammers and Hammerking will also guarantee that the top 5 Ultra4 teams who have completed at least 4 races in the 2011 Season will qualify for KOH!

Rocktoberfest is this weekend, October 22 and 23, at the Good Evening Ranch OHV Area, outside of Summersville, WV. Sponsored by Quality Drive Line, C. Adam Toney, Mid-state Rhino Lining, Fisher's Auto Parts, ProTech, Hardman's Hardware and Mountain State Off Road, camping is $25 a night for elec/water hookup and $10 a night for primitive. $15 per person per day, 12 & under free. Check with Mountaineer Offroad Club for more information.

The Big Dixie Boggers are hosting the Fall Rock Harvest at The Farm on October 28, 29 & 30. This is an open event for anyone that wants to come out. The fun starts Friday at 3pm and entry is $10 per person for a 3-day pass, plus $10 per rig. Kids under 12 are free and there will be Trick or Treating starting at dusk on Friday.

The Veterans' Day Commemorative Ride at Uwharrie National Forest is November 11-13. Camping is available both nights at the Art Lilley Campground and parking lot. This is an open event to all those serving or retired and anyone who wants to honor our heroes in uniform!

The 3rd Annual Rockvember Benefit Bash will be the weekend of November 18-20 at Uwharrie Stables in Troy, North Carolina. Sponsored by Wilson Off-road & Bragg4x4 Club, this is a charity event for wounded soldiers. There will be a Rock Crawl, Mud Race, Big Tire 1/16 mile Pull, Grudge Pull, and the High Speed Course will be open for free riding. Entry is $20 for the weekend and includes camping.

Ricky Berry (of Ricky B Photography) has extended the invitation to the 5th annual RBD event, November 25th-27th at Morris Mountain ORV park in Heflin, AL. RBD began as a small invite only event to celebrate Ricky B's birthday and has grown to be the Biggest Wheelin' Party of the Year! Trail rides begin Friday and last through Sunday. RBD's 2nd annual hill climb “...Run what ya brung” competition will begin at 10am Saturday on Los Primos with $1000 to the winner. Saturday evening will have music and camp-fire festivies... (bring a helmet). Sunday, the infamous “Barbie jeeps” will take on the Los Primos bypass trail in a downhill race.

Grant applications and all supporting material for the Tread Lightly! Stewardship Grant Program are due by 8am Mountain Time, Thursday November 24th, 2011.

"Tread Lightly! recognizes that one of the best ways to promote responsible outdoor recreation is to get recreational enthusiasts involved in the stewardship of their favorite recreational areas. Tread Lightly!’s Stewardship Grants are designed to help individuals and clubs organize clean-ups, trail maintenance work days and other small stewardship projects. The maximum grant amount is $500, and those funds can be used to rent equipment or purchase supplies like garbage bags, water, or snacks for volunteers, etc."

Projects can start anytime after December 1, 2011. For this grant cycle, all projects or events must be completed and final reports submitted by April 30, 2012.
