News and upcoming events from the 4x4 world you may have missed while you were busy having a life.
Events
The First Annual Veterans' Day Commemorative Ride at Uwharrie National Forest hosted about 30 servicemen and women, their friends and families. Everyone gathered at Art Lilley Campground, went to dinner Friday night, swapped stories by the fire and spent Saturday riding trails and enjoying hot dogs and barbecue.
The folks from 4 Wheel Parts in Raleigh brought the SSgt Daniel Zerbe memorial jeep, its maiden voyage since the build.

It's that time of year again. The 44th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 starts this Friday, November 18th! Bikes leave real early in the morning, trucks start around 11:30am, local time. The Shaffer Motorsports-Torchmate Racing car, #401, will be off the line between 12:00 and 12:30 and our buddy Berne Strom should step in to co-dawg around race mile 450 (sometime just before midnight, Friday night) and take her to the finish.
For those interested in keeping up with the tracking and chatter... there's even an app for that!

The 3rd Annual Rockvember Benefit Bash will be the weekend of November 18-20 at Uwharrie Stables in Troy, North Carolina. There will be a Rock Crawl, Mud Race, Big Tire 1/16 mile Pull, Grudge Pull, and the High Speed Course will be open for free riding. This is a charity event for the families of wounded and fallen soldiers, sponsored by Wilson Off-road & Bragg4x4 Club. For spectators, $20 covers weekend camping and entry pass.

The 5th Annual RBD is coming up! Ricky B's birthday celebration and the "Biggest Wheelin' Party of the Year!" will roll into Morris Mountain ORV park in Heflin, AL, on November 25. RBD's 2nd annual hill climb “...Run what ya brung” competition will begin at 10am, Saturday, on Los Primos with $1000 to the winner! Saturday evening will have music and camp-fire festivities (bring a helmet). Sunday, the infamous “Barbie jeeps” will take on the Los Primos bypass trail in a downhill race. Ricky Berry (of Ricky B Photography) has extended the invitation to the sickest Hill Assaulting, Rock Bouncing, Buggy Launching rigs that the South has to offer! Crawling is for Babies!

The 2012 W.E.ROCK Event Schedule has been announced and includes both Professional Rock Crawling and Dirt Riot Racing events in 26 locations across the US.

Ultra4 Racing announces the new "Branik Beast of the East" program
Ultra4 Racing announced a new partnership with Branik Motorsports, creators of quality extreme off-road vehicles and parts, to create an exciting new opportunity for east coast Ultra4 drivers in 2012. “The Branik Beast of The East” will award multi-race vehicle transportation to the top three Griffin King of the Hammers competitors hailing from east of the Mississippi River.
Dave Cole, Director of Ultra4 Racing declared, “One of the biggest challenges today is the cost of transportation. Our partnership with Branik Motorsports not only improves the level of competition in the Pro Series, it advances the mission of the Ultra4 Series being national in scope.”
Branik Motorsports will provide race vehicle transportation and logistics, including fuel, for the three qualifying teams to the Ultra4 American Rock Sports Challenge at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT, Best in The Desert’s Vegas to Reno race in Las Vegas, NV, and the final event of the 2012 season – the Ultra4 National Championship.
