4x4 Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales...

That's because the batteries sell for $60/ea, and the charger is another $35.

You can buy case charger batts on eBay, but by the time you do that, you're better off buying the package.

Not sure about that, seems many places have the 2763 bare tool for ~$200, like here
http://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-Tor...=UTF8&qid=1448937881&sr=1-1&keywords=m18+2763
and the battery + charger separately listed on the same page is a total of only $308 - but most of the packages are $380-400. Or do the packages come w/ 2 batteries? if so then price of 2 batteries + case is just about the same.

This gets easily misleading b/c the "M18 Fuel" has a few models, like the 2663 looks very similar but is a lower rated torque

Two batteries in a kit. Plus a charger, case, and the tool.

What ^ said. There are about 6 different sizes of battery for the M18 stuff. The big impacts are intended to be used only with the 4Ah (4 amp hours), while a lot of the smaller stuff can use the 1 or 2Ah batteries. I also recall seeing an even larger battery that was 5Ah. Theres also an older and newer version of the batteries. I don't know if there is any functional difference, but the older XC batteries were 3Ah and the newer XC batteries are 4Ah.

Do you actually need the bigger impact? I've got the compact one and the big one, and I've only used the big one once or twice because the compact one was in my truck and it would have taken longer to go get it. It's rated at 210ft-lbs and I've used it to take lugs off of 8 lug axles and break pitman arm nuts loose. Also, the ergonomics are great, whereas the big boy is a bit top heavy and awkward. You can get the small one for $315 with case/charger/2batts/free shipping, and they're running a promo for a free 5Ah battery:
