I'm curious. You guys that run shops, what is your stated hourly rate?
Not the buddy, under-the table, help out a cousin, etc or effective for doing some big project rate, but what you charge a guy off the street for a single job.
 
we're not a 4x4 shop, but our bill-out rate is about $46.50/hr for carbon steel welding/fab work. More if special tools and/or equipment is used (bender, break press, etc. )
 
at my work, not a 4x4 shop but a auto repair shop, we are $70 per hour ... this sounds high but for area its about average...
 
we are not a 4x4 shop but in shop billable is $89/hour and our road billable is $135

Special technical and certified high volt gear guys are $250
 
we charge $70 an hour and that is pretty low in the biz (fab is usually $50 an hour)
