4X4Everyone in URE september 24-26

planning on being there that is if nuttin dont happin between now and then. you gonna be there friday night len?

Looks like the weather is going to be good for this weekend except no rain so dusty roads again.

That's too bad we haven't gotten any rain recently. Mud is what I love, and last time the dust killed my interior, air vents, and air filter.
I still had dust blowing out the vents the day after the trip.

The wife and I are taking the Waggy on it's maiden wheeling voyage out there this weekend, maybe we'll run into you guys!

We should have a couple of other Jeeps with us, a white YJ on 37's, and a white CJ-5 on 36's. The Waggy (blue) is a 1991 on 30's, should be interesting! Hope to run into you guys!

We're camping at Badin Lake sites 23 & 24, headed out there Friday night... Stop by and say hey if you like!

Tim

Thats is what URE is famous for, the day later dust, I am pretty sure I have transplanted a ton to my yard

I still have dust in the cab area. Never got around to cleaning the nooks and crannies

Went yesterday and got new tires and a bunch of new camping gear.We will definitely be there.

Thanks for the invite! I just talked to one of the guys in our group, he has some more friends coming that told more friends to come, so we'll probably do our own thing, don't wait for us at the Outpost. Then again, you know how these things go, it could all fall apart! lol I do want to ride with you guys sometime, I like your group's ideas... Maybe we'll see you on the trails!

If you do any trail rides Sunday keep an eye out for a pair of Raiders rolling around the forest (one Red one Gold). Haven't seen you since one of the work days, would be cool to wheel with ya.

Same goes for the gang (Len, Jimmy, and the rest) that I haven't seen since April. I know the past trend hasn't been to wheel on Sunday, but if you guys do any runs we will be around.

Will do, Eli! It looks like we might get rained out Sunday, we may try and ride Sunday morning though... This Waggy we're taking is un-tested, and riding on 30" ATs, so it should be interesting.

louis jeep - 4x4Everyone seems like a good bunch of folks, you should try and meet up with them for sure. Of course if we run into you on the trail you're welcome to tag along, I just doubt we're going to be that organized...

Alright Headed out The Door I will see everyone this after noon and tonight!!!!!!!

Unfortunatly I wasn't able to leave tonight. I'll be leaving early tomorrow morning.

SO it seems we're not leaving til about 9am so we wont make it to meet up at the Outpost prior to hitting the trail ... hope to see some of you there... if you see me stop me... my tag is ROLL ME? lol... Have fun!

Whe had a great time, Thanks Rox&Mud, and Cj777

We had a great time out there Saturday, I look forward to the trail report. though the dust was pretty bad. Thanks everyone for your experience and guidance helping my stock 97 TJ through the trails.

I got some good video of everyone hitting the 1st ledge on Daniel, and four of the six jeeps that went up Dickey-Bell. I will post it to you-tube when I get all my poor camera handling edited out, Then post the links here.

I gave the TJ a thorough inspection last night once I got home, and it looks like there was no sustained damage on the trails other than a few dents in my gas-tank skid plate, and crushed milk jugs. I had a small hang nail looking piece of rubber on the sidewall of my passenger rear tire, Thanks to retrodaddy I came out with a tire that still holds air.

Had a great trip although I was never able to meet up with the group however I did pass the group on one of the main trails.
Took on Dutch John by accident, made a wrong turn and ended up on there. The stock JK Sahara handled great on Dutch John and I look forward to running it again next time I'm up there.
I woke up yesterday morning to find a flat tire though :( The stock Dueler A/T's got pretty chewed up.
I even tackled the Soup Bowl on the shallow side.

I gotta say at least one more time,I was totally blown away with the totally stock performance of your 100% stock TJ.You definitely showed a fearlessness that allowed you to conquer the obstacles in front of you.I honestly think your unmodified vehicle might have meant you had more fun than the rest of us.It was really cool seeing Daniel done by someone in a stock jeep on stock tires.Good Job Man!!!!!!!!!

Sweet vids

thanks steve for the video that was cool to see my jeep from that angle. although I can see jeff beaten it all up again lol. :driver:
