Apparently this applies TSB 01-06-01-029B

My Yukon uses around half a quart between oil changes. Guy at the local quick lube said it needs a PCV rebuild at a cost of $375  Also went on to say "we've had 3 or 4 of them motors bleewed up cuz they wudnt spin tha money, and them modors cosst bout $9,000 "

I laughed in his face, he was so shocked he let the baccy juice run out his mounth and glob on his shirt.

Now as I understand from doing a little reading, there is more to this than changing the PCV, but anyone have the specifcs?

Im thinking i can cover this, but wondering what more to a cracnkcase vent system there could be?

Blkvoodoo, didnt you used to be a GM tech? Remember this?

Its an 01 Yukon 5.3...

Looks like it'll cost ya all of $4 from the parts counter..

I remember reading about a different valve cover being used on some vehicles (Vette's?) with a much more baffled vent path to prevent oil from getting up in there, but that wasn't part of the TSB.
