So I picked up a 98 xcab chevy 1500 4wd auto for a song a few days ago. Radiator was busted when I bought it but it came with a used one that was good. The radiators are identical as far as hose position, both are for autos with oil cooler and trans cooler lines. The one that was in it is 40" outside measurements. The new used one is 34" wide outside. When I look for one on line both sizes come up. Why is this? I would think it's be ok to run it?

Could one be an option with a tow package?

That's the only reason I can think of that would make any sense at all. From what I've read the 34" core was standard in a BBC and the 6.5L diesel, and some of the half tons had it so i dont know
