does anybody use on of these to tow with? wanted to get some feed back on how you like it and what kind of gas mileage it gets unloaded and loaded

I would get the V10, lots more power than the v8, only a couple of mpg difference, not much more money, the V10 will last longer too, I've towed with all of them v8, v10, cummins, v10 is a close 2nd to the cummins especially when you consider the price difference, I used to tow with a v10 2500 4x4 auto and I gutted the cats, almost beat my buddies powerstroke 6 speed up the mountain, both towing our rigs, its a good motor(v10), good luck

look in the tow rig section on pirate, there's a thread on the 5.9 going on right now.

it'll get the job done, but you won't win any races.

haha yeah. the guy didnt specify in the add whether it was a v8 or v10 and i assumed it was the 360 but i just talked to him and he said its got the v10. only concern is gas mileage due to the fact that this maybe a dd, but he told me it got about 14 around town which seems kinda high

14 in town sounds a little high. most people i've known with them or read about get 10-12 around town depending on how they drive.

We haul used cars on the side
5.9 Cummins for the past 4 years

We pulled with a 5.9 gas one time while the Dodge was having tires put on....lost money on that trip.
Pulled ok but I had the keep hitting the fuel station
Diesel trucks are more money to buy and does the fuel savings out way the inital extra cost
If you pull a lot...yeah

I drove to the beach this weekend...I got 25mpg until I hit the 70mph zones...then I dropped to 20...still not bad for an 03 ctd 2wd crew cab dually
