Ok so this is potentially research for a certain YJ I recently acquired. I was going to just text @Jody Treadway but decided to see what others thought. I have a 94 1500 with the 5.9 Magnum in it that runs great. Original plan was to rebuild the auto and swap in in Ghost some day. Well now I'm thinking this YJ is set up for a manual so why not drop in the 5.9 with a manual? Well google is leaving me with not much out there. What manual was offered behind these in 94? Was it even an option in the 1500? I know it was in the 2500. What manuals can be found easily and not break the bank that can be mated to this engine. Will keep the FI so will need a bell-housing that works with it too. I did find where Novak would machine one for the CPS. Not sure if they still offer that because they had no bell housing options available but it was on their site. So educate me on Dodge manual options in the 94 year era.....

Use a 5.9 magnum flywheel, use a bellhousing from a Dakota with a 3.9. Bolt that bellhousing to an AX15 from a Jeep. Use external slave/master cylinder.
The CPS will mount on the Dakota bell just like stock.
I've done the swap before. It's really that easy.
I'm game I have an AX-15 but will it handle the v-8?

We expect a build thread with all of these parts by Sunday evening! LOL!

Except I don’t have $1200.

I’ll need to sell some more of this TJ to get close.

As others said, ax15/nv3500 is likely the easiest swap. NV4500 was a factory option, if you can find one from a 2500. I had a dodge np435 setup behind one, at one time. Would allow your 203/205 setup to bolt to the back.

Also, unless you are going to link the front, I think the YJ was setup for leafs and 99-04 front axle.

He had that yj set up for waggy springs, shackle reversed and replaced with slider boxes, that’s a killer combo

I was thinking NV4500 or NP435 with NWF black box and 205. But was coming up empty on finding either a 4500 reasonable or how to adapt the 435 to the motor I have.

That might be an option but I was leaning towards a 3 link front to go with the 4 link rear.

I know you're just bench racing at this point. But you're already complicating the piss out of it if budget is a concern.

Yes I figured I'd be looking for a transmission until you gave me an option I didn't think about. I have the motor and transmission and working on the right bell housing. Axles and transfer case will be the next hurdles. I have a 231 D I could use but would rather something stouter. I'm stuck looking for freight so why not research and plan/dream.
