Um actually, it hasn't. Here is another pic of the hog. The hunter is a Rocky Mount firefighter and works with a good friend of mine.

I still find it odd he's not gonna mount the head of the biggest pig he's ever shot... still a big pig though....

hmm...hunting on leased land. didnt the last record turn out to be a farm raised hog accidentally loosed on a hunting reserve?

where would you hang it?? haha that thing is huge, i would send the skull off to one of the places that has bugs eat all the matter out and off of and just have a cool skull hanging in my trophy stairwell (best i could do, wifey did'nt like the idea of a room and i am the man of the....yadayada....and she can close the basement door.)

He coulda kept the meat AND done a headmount, but a big Boar headmount sticks out 5' or more off the wall. He already has one big pig on the wall and I'm guessing his wife said " OH HELL NO " to a second, larger one ! They are some ugly, mean looking critters. I would go for a full body mount If I was rich and had room in my house for a 500lb hog!!

A few years ago, I had about a 250lb'er wander in to my yard from a small farm that used to be back in the woods. The lady that owned it died and all the hogs got out...the one that managed to find her way to my house stuck around and took care of all of our scraps (except what she didn't like, she was surprisingly picky!). Every winter, I'd go to my grandma's and get her a truck load of pine straw and she'd make herself a bed. Smartest pet I've ever owned!

Probably what I will have for dinner at my local beer dispensary... haha.

I picked up some Black Wing free range Wild Boar burger at Lowes foods a while back. Grilled it hamburger style and it was deeeeeeelicious and tastes nothing like domesticated Pork, a much richer, flavorful meat.

I would tell them to hold the Ghost pepper cheese. I'd want to be able to taste the Boarmeat and not deal with the burning, sweating, crying I predict I would experience a day or 2 after eating that cheese.

Not gonna lie, went up there and ate the Wild Boar BBQ Burger, it was freaking awesome. I love spicy food, and the cheese was perfect, with the bbq sauce and the boar it really went together very well. Was a little greasier than I expected, but it was good enough I will probably go again tomorrow and get another. I suggested to the owner it become a regular menu item, though I think the price was pretty high. $13.49

If you are out in the Stokesdale/Oakridge area I suggest giving it a try, tell them Eric sent you. Pretty good beer selection too.

Last weekend the special was Alligator Tacos... Haha.
