I am looking at a 52 CJ3A a guy has for sale up here. It supposedly runs, but the guy disconnected the fuel lines and braked lines before hauling it up here from Oregon. It's got a fair bit of rust and old weld patches on it. The hat channels are rusted through in a few spots and floor beneath the toolbox is starting to rust through. The body has some dents it also has a hard top. I believe a L head engine and the 3 speed tranny. It comes with a Dana 30 front axle, Sm465 tranny and a new set of gears for both the rear and front, that were gonna be used when he was gonna put a v6 in it. They are sitting in the cab right now. He has it listed for $1800, which I thought was pretty steep. I was wondering what it's actually worth?
Thanks

i have a 47 cj2a that i got from my grandpaw....ive had several people offer me 1000 and 2000 for it, but having a jeep that both my grandpaw and dad both four wheeled in the past and getting the chance to wheel it again for myself makes it pretty much pricless to me

Around here, I'd say just like $1000 or so. Looks like it really needs a lot of attention.
Of course up where you are, I'm sure anything like this is hard to find so "value"isjust what somebody is willing to pay.

And Welcome, you're probably our farthest US-based member!

i wouldn't pay much more that $750. for it....
looks like it needs a fair amount of work...for $1800, you could get a high mileage YJ...

of course the Willys has the cool factor 10x what a YJ would...

good luck!!

$1000 or less for a NON-running Willys

For $1800 you should be able to drive it...

(We paid $1300 I think for our 46 CJ2a and we overpaid a bit, I found several running examples later for the mid 1000s)

You will need LOTS of fabrication skills if you want to restore it, most of the parts will either be $$$ or take time.

Forums there will give you a LOT of good info and already restored models, etc.
