well, my buddy Erick has finally destroyed his old yota, and so I agreed to build him a tube frame. Specs:
rockwells, yota 22re,auto,dualsw/4.7,42 Iroks, tube!
I've got 2 pretty good days in and its taking shape, ready to get it done so I can work on my next rig

What do you think?

its a 2 seater, 47 inches wide, 109 WB

Niiice. Looks like its going to be a sick little rig. I bet its intresting watching you try and move those rockwells. :D You got all the junk for your YJ project yet?

yeah, it'll be stoooopid slow!, but thats what he wants. as far as the height, its not really as tall as it looks.should sit about 77" to the top of cage with 42's. Eric is a little taller than me and I want him to not knock his head. It may get a taco motor in the near future, so that'l provide a little more go!
Sam, thinking about scrapping the yj project and building myself a 4 seater tube chassis. we'll see!

oh gosh...Next time i hear about it you will have changed your mind to an 8 seater 6x6. :D

update pics
got another day at Erics house and got more done.

What does everybody think? it still needs an x behind the seats and will get an integrated cooler mount and a dog cage behind the seats. Got wheels. Need another steering Rockwell!

Hey Sam, i;m thinking hovercraft with a Yj tub next! Any idea where I can find a ford 205?

Wanna come to HKY? $100 :)

I've got the seats mounted and will try and get the stupid ass pinion yokes off here in a little bit to mount the pinion brakes. I'm going to try and get a socket from work to remove the hubs and flip them. Narrow this monster down. Man Dave this thing really is going to be pimp.
It's not going to be all that tall either folks. Low narrow and wide that's the ticket, and of course stupid slow.

got another good day in on Ericks Junk.

ANy reason for not take the bottom of the X down to the corners, and making a good node there? The notching is a bitch, but it's worth it...

The boatsides are cool..

the x behind the seats does go down to the loest point. And i've done about a thousand notches on this cage!

I dig it with a shovel Dave. He planning on running any skins or anything?

most of the skins wilbe plastic. With Huge boatside. It'll look pretty cool!

Looking good Dave....nice seeing something different.

Seth

Ordering DOM 2" by .375 wall for my control arms and bushings and RE joints.
Dave this thing is outstanding. The wife is ordering my fuel cell this week so she is contributing to this grand cause. Almost finished welding up the chassis, should be done tomorrow.

Got the DOM the other day. Tabs are ordered, should be here next couple days. RE joints and bushings should be here over the next few days. I order my Fox shoxs tomorrow and as soon as tax money comes in I'll be getting my tires. yeaaa. Should be ready to start links as soon as all the joints and tabs get here so wish me luck. Later all.

Yeah, i'm pretty happy with the way its turning out. Looks like we'll get the links done this weekend. get the 4.7 gears in the rear case, and make some progress in general. Got a few more ideas that'll be a little different from everyone else's buggy.
Then I gotta help another friend build one. Its a learning experience. everyone I build is getting better. By the time I get around to building my next buggy i'll be good at this stuff!

Yeah yeah, come on lets get those damn RE joints here already and get to the linking. The Fox air shoxs should be here mon, tues. so we need to get the laser cutter started on those mounts for the rockwells to Dave.

anyone got a smoking deal on a front 2.5 rockwell?

Got the tranny mounts and engine mounts done this afternoon by the way.
Later
