My kids' teacher is teaching that 1 ton = 1000 kg = 2000 lbs.
Anyone else seen the issue with this?

I'm not usually one to use this statement, buuuuuuut...
This is America. One ton equals 2000 pounds. That's approximately 907 kilograms. Teaching the children otherwise is incorrect.

Thank you for your concern.
Yesterday when I sent the message to all of you I just referred to the way we, Colombians measure mass, and I forgot to include the equivalent measurement you use in the US. Sorry for that.
It is not inaccurate information, I was just trying to teach them those trans-cultural things and I forgot to refer to this explanation in the mail I sent to you although I did with my kids. In Colombia we use 500 grams to be a pound, 1,000 grams to be a kilogram so 2 pounds are a kilogram.
I really appreciate your concern because that made me to realize that I need to clarify this to all parents.
Have an excellent rest of day and see you tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.
